Spotlight shines on Sunshine Coast's best builders

Hutchinson Builders and Peter Curley Constructions have taken out the major awards at this year’s Master Builders Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards, held on 01 August at Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
Hutchinson Builders received the 2015 Sunshine Coast Project of the Year for the USC Engineering Learning Hub at Sippy Downs, while the 2015 Sunshine Coast House of the Year went to Peter Curley Constructions for their Witta House at Noosa Heads.
Master Builders’ Sunshine Coast regional manager, Will Wilson, congratulated all 42 winners.
“The standard we have seen this year is incredible and demonstrates the impeccable talent and expertise of our industry,” Mr Wilson said.
“The Housing & Construction Awards provide an opportunity to recognise this talent, and it is great that after 28 years, they continue to be sought after by the state’s top builders and tradespeople.”

Architecturally intriguing, structurally challenging and inspiring in form and function, the University of the Sunshine Coast Engineering Learning Hub exemplifies the description for Project of the Year. Giving students access to the highest level of technology, it includes a three-dimensional virtual design space, modern learning spaces designed around internet communication, and an internal external upper floor that features some of the largest timber portals in Queensland. Hutchinson Builders have produced a building that is designed to become an icon of architecture in the region. Congratulations to Hutchinson Builders.
