RE: Concerned regarding cost increases during this housing crisis Dear [MP name], I am concerned about the proposed changes to the way houses are built in Queensland, due to commence 1 October this year. These changes will add thousands of dollars to the cost of building a new home and require home inclusions consumers do not necessarily want. While energy efficiency and liveable housing are great goals, these significant and costly changes should not be introduced at a time when housing affordability is in crisis. The Government needs to listen to the building industry and homeowners and not implement a one size fits all approach, taking away homeowners choices. I ask you to raise your concerns in the Queensland Parliament and with Minister de Brenni and the Premier. We are currently in a housing crisis. Now is not the time to increase the cost of housing. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing your response. Yours sincerely,
