HomeBuilder Grant
In June 2020 the Federal Government kickstarted economic recovery with the HomeBuilder grant.
When it was first announced, eligible owner-occupiers, including first home buyers, could obtain a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home.
Until 31 March 2021, eligible owner-occupiers were able to access a grant of $15,000 to build or buy a new home (up to $750,000) or substantially renovate an existing home (contract between $150,000–$750,000).
Eligibility was means-tested and construction must commence within 18 months of the contract date.
For those struggling with some of the complexities around the HomeBuilder rules, we've prepared a list of HomeBuilder key facts.
