As COVID-19 surges through Australia, many are left struggling due to isolation and quarantine requirements. The Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment is a lump sum payment that is available for those who are unable to work and earn income as they have to self-isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19 or are caring for someone who has to self-isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19.

The Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment - Queensland replaces the Queensland Hardship Payment in the listed circumstances.

People who are eligible for this payment must meet strict eligibility requirements, as outlined by Services Australia. Not everyone who is self-isolating or in quarantine can get the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment. Read more about who can get it.

If eligible, Services Australia will pay up to $750 for each seven-day period of self-isolation or quarantine, or care for someone with COVID-19. As of 18 January 2022, payments will be based on how many hours of work with a maximum payment of $750 where more than 20 hours in a week is lost. A new claim must be made for each seven-day period.
