Benefits of building new

There are many benefits to building new instead of buying an existing home.

Tailored to meet your needs

When building new, you can design your home to meet your specific needs and accommodate your lifestyle.

First Home Owners' Grant

The Queensland First Home Owners' Grant is a state government initiative helping first home buyers with a financial payment towards buying or building a new house, unit or townhouse (valued at less than $750,000). To find out about the eligibility requirements, visit the First Home Owners' Grant website.

Pay less stamp duty

When building new, you only pay stamp duty on the land not the build. One exception is if you buy a house and land package through a developer or builder, as you’ll have to pay stamp duty on both.

Save with energy efficiency

New homes must be built to a 6-star energy efficiency rating, resulting in reduced energy consumption and lower utilities costs.

Expect less maintenance

New homes usually require less maintenance than older homes.

Warranty covers structural defects

Have peace-of-mind knowing your home is covered for structural defects for six years and six months, under the QBCC's home warranty insurance scheme.
