Worker service returns for Queensland’s building and construction industry are due to QLeave by 31 July. As an employer in the building and construction industry, you have a legislative obligation to complete your return accurately and on time.
Worker service returns detail the eligible work completed by your workers in the past financial year, so we can calculate your worker's accrued long service leave. By completing your worker service return, you can help your workers get the long service leave they’ve earned.
Your worker service return can be submitted through the QLeave online portal. You can complete your return by entering your workers’ information manually, or by uploading a spreadsheet. Visit the QLeave website.
If your worker is on a full-time contract and has been with you for the full financial year, you must note this in your return, as they will automatically receive the maximum service for the financial year. If they are not a full-time worker, you must record the individual days they have worked that financial year so their entitlement can be correctly calculated.
Before your return can be submitted, every worker that has started with you in the past financial year must be added to your registration. If you’ve employed new workers in the last financial year, check if they have an existing QLeave registration and use those details to add them to your registration. Worker and employer registrations can take up to 10 business days to process, so please ensure you leave enough time to add all workers and complete your return on time.
It’s important you submit your worker service return by the due date, as failure to submit on time could lead to prosecution and penalties.
