A Brisbane home delivering the perfect symphony of Mediterranean warmth and contemporary Australian luxury stole the show at the 2026 Brisbane Housing & Construction Awards.
The industry's most anticipated annual event, the Awards drew a sellout crowd to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday 24 July.
Batspac’s Holland Park masterpiece, Dromolaxia, won the prestigious Xact Accounting House of the Year Award, as well as Best Residential Bathroom, Best Residential Pool and best Individual Home from $2.5 million up to $3 million. The judging panel felt ‘transported to Greece’ while viewing this impeccable home, with Batspac praised for the degree of difficulty in achieving the sweeping curves, with the kitchen and outdoor entertaining both standouts, earning them Specialty category Awards.
Hutchinson Builders also emerged big winners, taking out five gongs. Maturity, a respectful attitude and a proactive approach beyond expectations for a third-year carpenter saw Hutchies’ Bailey Caplick earn The Industry School Apprentice of the Year Award. The Hutchies team also celebrated two wins in the Education category, and one Award in both the Health and Commercial / Industrial categories.
When it came to awarding the Professional Certification Group Project of the Year Award, the judges couldn’t go past the breathtaking rippled façade of the Glasshouse Theatre, crediting Lendlease as having overcome ‘every possible level of difficulty’ of this iconic Brisbane landmark. The 1500-seat venue also won the Award for Tourism and Leisure Facilities over $10 million.
The sought-after BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award went to Allen Brothers Construction (QLD), who were praised for exceptional craftsmanship in their finishes, exceeding their clients’ expectations for this Brisbane River-side residence.
Also in the Individual Awards category, CPB Contractors’ Anastasia Little was lauded for her leadership, mentoring and creating pathways for others in the industry with the Women in Building Award. The Rising Star Award went to luxury residential builder Ethan Inglis of Ryer Projects, applauded for his commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a trusted reputation for quality.

Standing inside this stunning home, our judges felt transported to Greece – fulfilling the vision of Mediterranean warmth fused with contemporary Australian luxury. Winner of the 2026 Brisbane BUSSQ Building Super Presidents’ Award – Allen Brothers Construction (QLD) for Project 124 - Laidlaw. Construction quality is a defining strength of this Brisbane River-front residence, where a sloped site with limited access demanded a disciplined, highly skilled team. Allen Brothers excelled, delivering millimetre-perfect off-form concrete walls, seamless cladding interfaces, and internal finishes demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship. The uncompromising standard and livability of the project exceeded the clients’ expectations, reflected in Allen Brothers being engaged to renovate their adjoining property. Our judges were equally impressed, hailing Laidlaw’s construction as exceptional on a beautiful yet challenging site.
Winner of the 2026 Brisbane Professional Certification Group Project of the Year Award – Lendlease Construction for Glasshouse Theatre. As our judges put it: the Glasshouse Theatre is a snapshot of the future of construction. Our panel marvelled at Lendlease having overcome ‘every possible element of difficulty’ during the five-year build. Delivery of the breathtaking rippled glass façade gracing the exterior of the 1500-seat venue required a year of meticulous planning before its six-month installation – the first of its kind in Australia. A concrete, precast and steel superstructure was constructed to support the auditorium and foyer structures reaching across the precinct, completing this iconic cultural landmark.
