We get that everyone learns and achieves skills in different ways.
From hands-on experience and community/voluntary work, to knowledge gained over time and independent study; life and work experiences and previous formal studies can count towards successfully obtaining a qualification.
Credit transfer involves recognising a previously completed qualification or unit of competency that provides equivalent learning or competency outcomes to those required within the student’s current course of study.
Master Builders recognises the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other registered training organisation (RTO).
Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process that assesses the individual’s non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning outcomes, competency outcomes, or standards for entry to, and/or partial or total completion of a qualification.
Master Builders understands that people acquire knowledge and skills from other training programs (both accredited and non-accredited) and employment within various industries, as well as participation in voluntary, social and recreational activities.
Evidence supplied must be from the present or the very recent past (no more than 5 years prior to the date of enrolment) in order to be accepted for RPL.
Skills may have been gained through:
- Formal or informal training and education
- Work experience
- General life experience
- Any combination of the above.
The evidence of competence will be assessed in relation to specific units of competency, and can be done in a number of ways, including:
- Work samples
- Practical demonstrations in the workplace
- References and/or interviews with supervisors
- Certificates or performance reviews
- Other documented evidence (such as photos of work samples, and testimonials).
