Queenslanders have won the two most prestigious titles at Master Builders Australia’s National Excellence in Building & Construction Awards 2025.
The Sunshine State dominated at the event at Morphettville Racecourse, Adelaide, on Friday 28 November, taking out 15 of the 51 categories.
Jager Build again proved a force to be reckoned with, named National Residential Master Builder of the Year, and winning the Toyota National Contract Home Award– over $6 Million for Sunshine Coast masterpiece, Horseshoe Hill. Showcasing a mastery of both traditional and modern construction techniques, the uniquely shaped family home celebrates a harmonious blend of innovative design and technical expertise.
Multiplex Constructions Qld was honoured as the National Construction Master Builder of the Year and won the National Entertainment and Recreation Facility Award for the iconic Queen’s Wharf Integrated Resort Development. Spanning more than four city blocks and already renowned as a landmark on the Brisbane River, the development includes three towers, retail space and casino, and a suspended glass Sky Deck.
The National Specialist Contractor of the Year Award – Residential also honoured a Queenslander. Wide Bay Burnett’s own Mariners Pools Plus claimed the sought-after title for their stunning work on the Illumina Haven project.
Queensland’s other winners included:
- National Display Home Award – under $400,000 – Affinity Designer Homes for Mia Mia (Far North Queensland)
- National Renovations/Extensions Award – over $2 Million – Corella Construction for Wilston Renovation (Brisbane)
- National Renovations/Extensions Award – under $350,000 – Freedom Constructions Qld for Bayview Under-Home Transformation (Far North Queensland)
- National Contract Home Award – under $400,000 – Gordon Bourke Construction for Rowies Retreat (Downs & Western)
- Cbus National Medium Density – over 5 Dwellings – Graya Multi-Res for Chalk (Brisbane)
- National Contract Home Award – $2 Million to $4 Million – O’Shea & Sons Builders for Kamares sto Appia (Brisbane)
- National Contract Home Award – $800,000 to $1 Million – Phillip Bonaventura for The View (Mackay & Whitsunday)
- Cbus National Medium Density – 2 to 5 Dwellings – PJH CONSTRUCTIONS AUSTRALIA for Tides (Gold Coast)
- Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner National Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety Award – RCQ for Mental Health Initiative (Sunshine Coast)
- Master Builders Insurance Brokers National Contract Home Award – $600,000 to $800,000 – SX Homes for The Waterhen (Sunshine Coast)
The event also saw the winners of Master Builders Australia’s Business Excellence Awards announced, where Lowcock Builders was honoured with the National Business Excellence Award for Small Commercial Construction Company – Annual Turnover under $25M.

Achieving this level of success is no mean feat – and our state laying claim to Residential Master Builder of the Year for a second consecutive time, plus Construction Master Builder of the Year, cements the elite level of talent we call our own,” Master Builders Deputy CEO Sue-Ann Fresneda said.
“From workplace health and safety to renovations, multi-residential projects and homes of every size, these Awards celebrate the skill and versatility of Queensland builders. Our industry is ready to deliver on a once-in-a-generation pipeline of work – and with the right policy settings, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.”
It comes as Master Builders Queensland prepares to launch its 2026 Housing & Construction Awards Program, celebrating 40 Years of Excellence.
“Hot on the heels of an extremely successful season in 2025, our 2026 celebrations will pay homage to the history of our prestigious Awards program, as well as honouring those shaping the industry today,” Ms Fresneda, the Awards’ Ambassador, said.
“We are so excited celebrate our members and their stories. I look forward to walking through the decades, reliving some incredible moments, iconic projects, homes, and people – and of course, some fabulous fashion.”
Entries for the 2026 Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards will open on 8 December 2025.
