To ensure your business is operating effectively, everyone needs to be performing at a high standard.

Performance management is not just about discipline and termination, it is an ongoing process that allows your workplace to be proud, productive and safe, and working towards common and well understood goals.

Performance management

Managing your employees occurs during the entire employee lifecycle.  Effective performance management includes setting clear goals and expectations, position descriptions and contracts of employment, probation period management, formal review processes, and providing ongoing feedback.

Disciplinary action

When reviewing an employee’s performance, clearly highlight any areas of concern. If an employee continually fails to improve, you should take appropriate disciplinary action, such as issuing a warning letter. While there is no minimum or maximum number of warning letters that need to be issued to an employee before terminating their employment, you should act fair and reasonable.
