Accredited Test & Tag

Get the training you need to test and tag

UEESS00174 Electrical safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies skill set.

Do you need your Restricted Electrical Contractors Licence or the skills to test and tag yours or your employer’s equipment?

Successful completion of this skill set has two alternate outcomes:

  1. Completion of this skillset allows the student to test and tag their own electrical equipment and the electrical equipment that is owned by their employer (PCBU). They will be able to test, tag and report on portable/hand-held low voltage electrical equipment using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT). They cannot test and tag other workers or subcontractors’ electrical equipment.

Please note the skillset is a competency, not a licence, and it is up to the employer (PCBU) to ensure a person is competent to perform the work.

    OR

  2. PCBUs who perform testing and tagging work as part of a business or undertaking must hold an electrical contractor licence permitting that work. This skillset is the technical requirement needed for a business to apply for the Restricted Electrical Contractors Licence (restricted to electrical testing and tagging work only) through Work Safe.
